Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is the latest name of a string
that began with the Civil Defense. Then was know as the Emergency
Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) and now, EMA. The Village of
Wauconda followed the renaming conventions that were adopted at the
state and federal levels.
The
Local EMA's main focus is monitoring and tracking severe weather as
it approaches the Wauconda Area. One of the most active volunteer
services, EMA personnel also assist police and fire personnel in
many civic activities.
