WAUCONDA, IL.  The Village of Wauconda is excited to announce the hiring of Julie McManus to fill the vacant Finance Director and Treasurer position.

Over the last four months, the Village has worked with the governmental recruiting firm GovHR in a comprehensive search which drew multiple applicants.  After narrowing the search to the most qualified candidates and two rounds of in-person interviews, it became clear that Julie was the ideal candidate.

Julie comes to Wauconda from her current position as Finance Director and Treasurer for the Village of Bensenville, IL, having previously served in the same capacity at the Village of Fox Lake and the City of Angels Camp, CA.  Julie is a CPA and received her BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She specializes in internal audit and loss control, utilities and technology management, and long-term capital planning. 

“I am excited to welcome Julie to the team on May 1. She brings great credentials, depth of experience in both the public and private sector, and enthusiasm for the role. As we work to ensure Wauconda’s long-term sustainability, Julie will bring a fresh perspective and reliable expertise to guide our Board and staff,” said Village Administrator Matson.  

Julie’s first day will be May 1, 2023.
