The Village of Wauconda takes great pride in our community’s crown jewel – Bangs Lake.  One of the many ways the Village helps to take care of this valuable natural resource is through the annual Fish Restocking Program.

On November 1st the Village’s fish restocking vendor, Richmond Fisheries, deposited the following species into Bangs Lake as part of the Village’s comprehensive fish stocking plan:

  • 750 Black Crappie 4”-6”
  • 500 Redear Sunfish 3”-5” (Sunfish feed on the invasive zebra mussels)
  • 200 Channel Catfish 6”-8”

Walleye, Northern Pike, and Small Mouth Bass are scheduled for stocking at the end of November.
