Every day, Village of Wauconda employees take pride in ensuring your water is safe and reliable. In the past few months, there have been multiple issues in payment processing, which resulted in us mailing shutoff notices to some customers whose accounts were paid on time. None of those customers experienced a water service disruption or were charged a penalty.
We apologize for the mistakes and thank the residents who brought the issues to our attention. We want to assure you that we are reviewing our processes and working with the financial institution that processes our payments to minimize errors and give you great customer service.
Billing Reminders to Avoid Late fees
Each month, we also hear from customers who forget to pay on time or whose payments are received after the due date. Below are some easy ways to avoid late payment penalties and shutoffs.

High Water Bills
We regularly hear from residents who are surprised by high water bills. Most often, these bills are due to leaking toilets, sinks, bathtubs, furnace humidifiers or hot water tanks. If you receive a high water bill, you may call our Utility Billing line to double check the amount of your bill; however, you may need to call a plumber to diagnose and repair leaks.Our goal is to provide you with the best possible service. We appreciate your patience and understanding when issues arise. You may rest assured we will always attempt to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
