New Construction and Alteration PermitsBy Village of Wauconda Ordinance, a building permit is required for all new construction, additions, alterations, remodeling, replacements, structural repairs, plumbing and electrical alterations. Please contact the permit desk at 847-526-9609 if you have any questions regarding permit requirements. Issued permits are not refundable.

**Please note there is a card fee of 2.25% added to each transaction for processing your building permit payment. Should you wish not to pay this fee please mail your payment to the Department at 109 W Bangs Street, Wauconda IL 60084.**

The following projects do not require a permit:

• Door or Window same size replacement
• Furnace replacement
• Gutters & Downspouts
• Water Heater replacement

Non-Construction PermitsA permit or inspection is also required for:

• Bonfire Permit Application
• Ecological Burn Permit Application
• Lawn Irrigation Systems, Outdoor Watering During Conservation Period, and Sewer Repairs require a Community Development permit.
